For the second year running the Ntaria School sent a team of girls into Alice Springs to participate in the School Girls Football Competition.

In order to participate throughout the season, the Ntaria girls were expected to attend school, participate in training sessions and play all the games which were mainly in Alice Springs. This year however, two games were held in Ntaria which was a great community event.

Wanta was an integral part of the team assisting with coaching, logistics, transportation, meals and uniforms for each game, and co-hosted community barbecues for the home games.

The Grand Final was a close match between St. Philips and the Ntaria School, with both teams showcasing great skills and determination. In the end Ntaria took the win by 8 points, and Ntaria’s forward Casandra Campbell was awarded man of the match.

It was a great season and the girls are holding their heads high as they bring the cup home to Ntaria.
