Last week, our Wanta Director in Ngukurr took nine Grade six students, who have been very well behaved and consistent in their school attendance on a reward trip to Mataranka Thermal Springs.
On Friday morning, the students had breakfast at school and then full of excitement jetted off on the school bus. They enjoyed listening and singing along to Ngukurr’s own band ‘The Lonely Boys’ on the way which made the 3 hour journey fly by.
Once the kids arrived it was straight off the bus and down to the water where the students were thrilled to see a pig; just casually hanging around and lapping up all the attention from the kids!
After a fun splash in the water playing Marco Polo, What’s The Time Mr Wolf and various other improvised games it was time to head up and get some lunch at the kiosk. The students thoroughly enjoyed their burgers and chips whilst they chatted happily in the sun.
On the way home all the kids fell asleep, they were exhausted – not only from all the swimming but all the effort they have been putting in at school and their after school sports during the week.
Well done to all the students who attended; keep up the good work! And a big thank you to our Ngukurr Director, Leigh for organising such a special day for them.
