During the school holidays, Wanta partnered with renowned street artist ‘Kaff-eine’ to deliver a vibrant week-long mural project with the young people of Hermannsburg (Ntaria).
From the very beginning, this wasn’t about painting someone else’s idea, it was about creating something that truly belonged to the community. Every character, outfit, animal and design element featured in the mural came directly from the students’ imaginations. From the colourful shirts and meaningful symbols to the unique personalities they created, every section tells part of their story. One of the standout features is our very own ‘Western Aranda Bulldog’, proudly taking its place on the wall as a symbol of local identity and pride.
Each morning, the kids arrived full of energy despite the crisp winter weather, eager to continue bringing their ideas to life. Throughout the week they sketched, shared ideas, refined their designs and worked side-by-side with Kaff-eine, learning new artistic techniques while building confidence in their own creativity. There were plenty of laughs along the way as the mural gradually transformed from a blank wall into a colourful reflection of the community.
The finished artwork is bold, joyful and unmistakably theirs. More than just a mural, it represents teamwork, imagination and the pride that comes from creating something lasting together. It is a reminder of what can be achieved when young people are given the opportunity to express themselves, learn new skills and contribute something meaningful to their community.
