As the weather gets cooler, term two can traditionally see a dip in attendance levels, therefore our Directors and staff are busy planning fun activities including cultural opportunities, sporting games, and reward trips to continually engage Indigenous kids in school.
All of our Wanta academies are excited to get back into things, and have started term 2 off strong.
Some highlights include:
Our year six students and indigenous staff from Ntaria flew to Darwin to spend a week at the Michael Long Learning Centre.
The Senior girls in Yuendumu embarked on a team building exercise by climbing Yuendumu hill together.
In Arlparra the Senior boys kicked off footy training ahead of their season starting, they also decided to give back to their community by running Auskick clinics for the younger kids. Big kids mentoring younger kids is a great way to get everyone involved and enjoying themselves.
Everyone is looking forward to what term 2 has to bring!
